Ones
to Buy
Eaga
This
company specialises in helping people struggling with their
gas and electric bills to reduce them. It benefits from
having a customer base primarily made up of local authorities,
government agencies and utility companies and has grown
strongly since its creation in 1990 - it's now a FTSE250
listed company. Continued strong growth looks likely - plenty
of potential, says the Mail on Sunday.
Kasakhmys
The
copper miner is currently the cheapest in its sector, despite
being at an all-time high. At just 10 times next year's
earnings, it should be a good long-term buy, believes The
Telegraph.
International
Power
The
power company produced good figures last year despite some
problems - more of the same this year, reckons The Independent
- buy.
IMI
UK
engineering company IMI is the world's largest maker of
pneumatic controls and has this week announced excellent
full-year results for 2007. The company has nearly completed
moving its production facilities abroad to low cost economises
- China, Mexico and Eastern Europe - and future prospects
look good. Buy, The Telegraph.
Ones
to Avoid
Inmarsat
Satellite
operator Inmarsat may have a bright future, but the recent
strong run on its shares means that now is not the time
to buy, says The Times.
Johnston
Press
Regional
newspaper company Johnston Press may be well-run but right
now looks too risky - steer clear for a little longer, says
The Telegraph.
Playtech
Playtech
provides the software necessary for online gambling operators.
It has a healthy cash balance and is currently planning
to graduate from AIM to the main market. However, its recent
22% rally means that now really isn't the time to buy -
The Times.
