UK Stocks and Shares and Investment tips

Ones
to Buy
Domino's
The
cost of a meal out is beginning to look expensive for many
people, making a takeaway from Domino's a more appealing
option, according to the Mail on Sunday. Internet sales
are up and the company's franchise system seems well thought
out. Still further to go, says the Mail on Sunday.
Mothercare
Mothercare's
increasingly diverse income streams (which now include the
Early Learning Centre) look reasonably safe in the current
climate. Investors could do much worse, according to The
Independent, which has the retailer as a buy.
SQS
Software
Quality Systems provides outsourced software testing services
to clients - many of whom are long-term and blue chip. 75%
of the company's business comes from repeat customers and
half of this year's sales are already agreed. Against this
background, SQS seems under-rated against its IT peers.
It's doing well in a growing sector - buy, says the Mail
on Sunday.
Paragon
Specialist
buy-to-let mortgage lender Paragon is apparently attracting
bid interest. This is presumably based on the logic that
the BTL market can't stagnate forever and provides a valuable
income stream. The Telegraph says buy on current weakness.
Premier
Oil
The
oil explorer has just upped its output targets from 50,000
barrels per day to 80,000. It claims that exploration is
going well in Vietnam, an area with which it is already
familiar. Despite this, it looks cheap against its sector
- buy, says The Independent.
Ones
to Avoid
Daily
Mail and General Trust
DMGT
missed out on a chance to sell its debt-ridden local newspaper
division two years ago. They must now be ruing the decision,
reckons The Times. Avoid.
Invista
European
This
property group has warned that debt financing costs could
prevent the dividend being covered by cash this year. It's
bad news for investors and despite the shares' sitting at
a discount to their sector now is not the time to buy. Stay
away, says The Times.
